Article summary

The purpose of system updates is to promote a better security and to streamline the update experience overall. They rely on the System Updates scheduled task. It is even possible to configure unattended updates for your Liquit System.

Option availability

This option is visible for:

  • administrators with zone level permissions - they have read-only permission regarding the updates applied to their zone and Liquit Workspace Satellite Servers associated with their zone.
  • administrators with system level permissions - they have full management rights over all zones, Liquit Workspace Servers and Liquit Workspace Satellite Servers within their zone. To manage servers of another zone, administrators must first connect to that zone.
  • the LOCAL\admin user (by default), who has system level permissions.

There are 2 types of updates available for Liquit Workspace:

  • Quality: Minor updates that contain stability and performance improvements without introducing new features.

  • Feature: Major updates that contain new customer requested features, stability and performance improvements.

Here you can define the channel you want to subscribe to:

  • Production - All updates that are available within this channel have been tested and verified for production environments.
  • Preview - All updates will be published within the preview channel before they will become available within the production channel. These updates are not recommended for production environments, unless instructed by our support desk.

Here you can also configure if and how long the server that has an update queued should enter maintenance mode, before applying the update. This way the Load Balancing solution has time to temporarily remove the server from the group of available servers.

refresh1 Enable/Disable auto refresh - If enabled, the information is automatically updated periodically.
