Article Summary

If you want to create an application for Oracle Java Runtime Environment, you can download it in the Setup Store. Then, right-click and choose ‘Create Applicaton’.

Inside the downloaded file, there is an MSI embedded. We’ve included a Oracle Java Runtime Environment Configuration Wizard which extracts the MSI automatically and prompts you for several additional options.

You can check or uncheck several installation options.

Start the installation. When the License Agreement screen pops up, look in the “c:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Application DataOracle\Java\jre1.8.0_xx directory” when you’re using Windows XP or “C:\Users\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\Java\jre1.8.0_xx\” when your’re using Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1.

For the x64 version look in the “C:\Users\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\Java\jre1.8.0_xx_x64\” directory. In that directory you will find the ‘jre1.8.0_xx.msi’.
