Device Registrations allow you to register devices to the Liquit Workspace by using certificates. This allows you to authenticate devices without interaction of a user. When using this option, the user doesn't need the "Register device" privilege, while they can still use the Agent when installed with this option configured.
For a detailed description of the Agent.json
device registration parameters, see Agent configuration.
For step by step instructions on methods of registering a device, see Device registration methods.
Device registrations are supported only for the Universal Agent.
Overview screen
The overview screen provides a few basic options to configure the registration of devices.
Settings screen
The settings page allows you to register devices through a certificate.
Self signed certificate - In this case, Liquit Workspace will use a self-generated certificate for the device registration.
Certificate - Select an existing certificate with a private key to assign to this device registration. Note that for this method, the certificate is used for all devices inside your Liquit System.
Certificate Enrollment - Select an existing certificate that will be used to register this device. This method is more secure than the others as you can issue a certificate per device which you can revoke at any time.
The Certificate and Certificate Enrollment methods use the PKI system, meaning the Root CA authority is trusted and automatically all the intermediate certificates assigned to it are also trusted.
Auditing screen
View a comprehensive log of changes to this device registration, displaying the identity behind each modification.
This screen is available only if the auditing is enabled in the Database Event Collector. For more information, see Auditing.
