General
This document provides guidance on updating from Liquit Workspace 4.2 to Application Workspace 4.3. Please note that it does not include guidance on updating from versions prior to 4.2. Although updating from earlier versions is possible, the scope of this document is limited to 4.2 to 4.3.
Old Agent, and old Bootstrapper end of life.
The old 3.9 and 3.10 Liquit Workspace Agents are no longer in support. The server and the bootstrapper will no longer supply the old Liquit Workspace agents. The parameter /legacyDownload is no longer delivered with the new bootstrapper. You need to migrate the Agent and bootstrapper to version 4.3 otherwise deployments will stop working.
Installers
All the installers are rebranded with Recast Software, and the supplied file names are changed to reflect the new Application Workspace names. The Firewall rules are now renamed Application Workspace Server. The Windows server has a new display name “Application Workspace Server” and the Agent service has a new display name “Application Workspace Agent”. Only the display name and description is changed but service name has not changed for existing monitoring purposes.
UI Rebranding
The full interface has a new look and feel in line with Recast Software. For example, for end users Liquit Workspace in the start menu is now called “Application Workspace” and of the launcher and the tray icon have a new icon. The default icon in the case of packages and tags is now in line with the Recast Software branding.
Microsoft Graph API email server
To change the mail server, a new mail server setting needs to be configured in your Application Workspace system.
Wait for a zone while in a deployment
If during a deployment the connection to a zone is interrupted (e.g. by the installation of a VPN or Virus scanner with firewall), the deployment will wait and continue if the connection is restored. In previous versions the deployment generated an error.
Filters
When using new filters, it’s important to remember that older Agents will return “False” for any unknown filter. This can happen with the new filters:
- Time zone
- Time zone offset
Microsoft Teams Integration
The Microsoft Teams integration has been made available from Application Workspace 4.3. To initiate the wizard, your user account will require privileges to create a new App registration in Azure as well as appropriate privileges to deploy and pin new apps via Teams admin center.
Feedback
As many of you requested, we are introducing a new feedback portal. This will become live at the same time or shortly after the release. You can sign up and view your ideas and those of others on the Recast software ideas platform.
